Services are used to configure the trade(s)/skill(s) that a Resource and/or Team can perform e.g. plumbing, carpentry etc.
Services are used in a number of areas within the system.
They are allocated to Activities/SORs to determine what type of work is required for each activity. When you create a Job the Service will be assigned to the Job depending on the activities selected. The services also provide a link to Work Type, so a Work Type will also be assigned to the Job on creation. More information can be found here:
NOTE: You must assign a Client to the Work Type (see work type client configuration), otherwise the Service will not be available to add to Activity Codes.
The Service will need to be allocated to the relevant Teams and Resources to identify who has the skills to carry out the work. When you create a Job, a Team will be assigned but not appointed (the postcode of the site also determines whether a Team can be selected as the supplier needs to cover that postocde). Follow these instructions to add Services to Teams
During scheduling the service determines which Teams and/or Resources can be appointed on a Job in the Pooled View and Fixed View.
To configure specific service labour rates against Team and/or Resources follow these instructions:
User Type Right -Services [svr] Access to the services page under the admin menu
Adding a new service
Select the Cog icon to open the Admin menu.
Select Services from the Jobs menu section.
If you have already created a Service it will be displayed in the list view.
Click on Plus icon to create a new service
- Add a service name and check the Active flag is on.
Editing a Service
- Select the Cog icon to open the Admin menu.
- Select Services from the Jobs menu section.
- Click on the Service from the table view
- Click on the Update button to save any changes.
