Rate Types

Rate Types are used to record different hourly costs against Services. This enables you to calculate Travel/Collecting Material/Working Time for all jobs. The time is populated by an engineer on their mobile or by a desktop user on the Resource tab. You can have many Working Time types but they will all use the cost value.

Against Teams and Resources you can set a Rate against every Service for each Rate Type. This offers the ability to set a different Rate for work scheduled outside of normal working hours. 

When a job calculates a labour rate it will use the rate saved against the resource, If the resource cost is blank it will try and use the rate against the team. If all your engineers work on the same hourly rate you can apply the cost at Team level instead of against every Resource. 

On the Job the labour cost will show on Job Resource tab and Job Cost table. Examples below

Calendars

Each Calendar needs a Rate Type assigned to it to specify the time periods and days relevant to the Type. Instructions of how to do this can be found here: Calendars.

User Type Right : Rate Type [RTY] - access to the Rate type page on the admin menu 

Creating a new Rate Type 

  1. Select the Cog icon to open the Admin menu.
  2. Select Rate Type under the Financial section. 
  3. Existing Rate Types will appear in the list view, you can change the name by clicking on the row to open the edit panel
  4. Enter the name of the new Rate Type in the Name field. Use the Create button to save the rate type

We have three Rate Types as standard, the names can be altered on your system:

  • Contracted Time
  • Overtime AM
  • Overtime PM
